Apps that serve you.

Use it when you want. Enjoy it when it helps. Put it down when you're done.

Our mission is to develop apps that are free to download and use and that respect people's time, privacy, and autonomy. We believe software should serve people, not monetize them.

Why we exist

A simpler choice

Apps should be useful or fun. They should not try to hold your attention, collect information they do not need, or push you to spend money.

Many apps make money from advertising, subscriptions, and in-app purchases. The longer and more often people use them, the more money they can make. This can lead to constant notifications, daily streaks, expiring rewards, endless feeds, artificial limits, and paid shortcuts.

Some of these features can be useful or enjoyable. The problem is when they are added mainly to keep people in the app or make them pay. Then the app is no longer built mainly for the person using it.

FinitePlay offers a simpler choice.

Our mission

Complete, dependable, and free of charge.

We make simple, useful apps and games that people can enjoy on their own terms. They should do their job well without asking for extra time, money, or personal information.

New tools, including artificial intelligence, make small apps easier and less expensive to build. We want to use that progress to create complete, dependable apps that people can download and use without charge.

We do not try to keep people engaged for as long as possible. We make apps worth using and leave people free to decide when to use them and when to stop.

The FinitePlay Promise

Nothing hidden in “free.”

Every official FinitePlay app follows the same simple rules.

Free to download and use

The app is not a trial, sales funnel, or storefront.

No advertising

Your attention will not be sold while you use our software.

No purchases or paid tiers

No essential features, virtual items, faster progress, competitive advantages, or relief from artificial inconvenience for sale.

No behavioral tracking

We will not build profiles of how you use an app or sell information about you.

No account required

You should not have to identify yourself merely to use a simple app.

Offline when possible

Software should not depend on a remote service when it does not need one.

No pressure to return

No punitive streaks, artificial waits, expiring rewards, or nagging alerts.

Transparent

We explain why an app requests any permission and what information, if any, it processes.

An app may include notifications, statistics, scores, levels, or other interactive features when they genuinely serve its purpose. They will serve the person using the software—not an advertising system, spending loop, or engagement target.

Healthy use

Enjoyment without exploitation.

Game addiction is a real problem. People engage with games in different ways: a game that is easy for one person to put down may be difficult for another.

We cannot promise that any game is addiction-proof or guarantee healthy use for everyone.

Our goal is to provide a healthier form of entertainment. We will not create features that deliberately exploit the risk of compulsive use. We will not manufacture urgency, punish people for taking a break, or pressure them to return. We want people to enjoy our apps, stop when they choose, and come back only when they want to.

Why an LLC

Small by design.

FinitePlay is a mission-driven limited liability company, not a nonprofit corporation or tax-exempt charity. A formal nonprofit requires significant governance, administration, and ongoing reporting. For a small effort like ours, that overhead would take time and money away from creating and maintaining software.

We are enthusiasts who love building high-quality software in our free time and want to give something useful back to the community. We chose a simple LLC so we can focus on the work while giving our apps, publishing accounts, contracts, and other assets a stable legal home.

Our legal structure does not change the FinitePlay Promise. If the project grows and its needs change, we can reconsider the structure in the future.

Sustainability

Support without strings.

FinitePlay may accept voluntary support, grants, or other funding compatible with this mission. Supporting an official app will never unlock features, remove inconvenience, provide an advantage, or change how its users are treated.

We may also perform separate professional work or license technology outside official FinitePlay releases, but official apps will remain governed by the FinitePlay Promise.

FinitePlay is not tax-exempt. Money given to FinitePlay supports a for-profit-form company and is not a tax-deductible charitable donation.

Our success is measured by whether the software is useful or enjoyable, dependable, private, accessible, and respectful—not by time spent, advertisements viewed, purchases made, or fear of missing out.
